The Bird series are carved from fallen tree branches found around my farm. Once their location was decided, I selected colors based on their surrounding environments, allowing different Birds to have stronger presences during different seasons. In their final location, they call attention to the surrounding nuanced palette, subtle surprises in tone, and range of color possible through time of day and time of year
