Scapes present an ever changing collaboration between the human-made and the earth-formed. I initially painted plywood pieces in metal coatings, applying different patination solutions to create an array of natural, yet forced, patinas. After installation in their final location, they continue to age and develop varied, subtle colors, causing nature to become a co-creator in the work. The pieces are relocated annually for site management, creating Earth Negatives.
